“Be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another
[in] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,
singing and playing to the Lord in your hearts,
giving thanks always and for everything in
the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God
the Father.” (Ephesians 5
Do you sing or play an instrument, or did so in school or college? Do you want to be part of a choir, but don’t feel that you have the necessary skills? Fear not . . . no prior musical experience is necessary to be part of the music ministry! Just come as you are . . . all are welcome!
At our parish, music forms an important part of our liturgical celebrations in leading the faithful in “full and active participation” of God’s Word through sung prayer. Our cantors, choirs and instrumentalists primarily lead the music for our weekend liturgies, but also sing for Christmas, Holy Week, and other occasions throughout the church year.
The music ministry is under the direction of Mrs. JaNet Hancock with the assistance of Ms. Sherah Moore and many volunteer musicians who generously give their time and share their talents with the parishioners of St. Philip Neri and St. Albert the Great. For this all are truly grateful!
For more information on how to get involved with the Music Ministry, please see the various pages on each of our wonderful choirs, contact the director of the choir you are interested in, and then just come to the scheduled rehearsal.
Thank you for your consideration of the St. Philip Neri - St. Albert the Great Music Ministry. We look forward to hearing from you!
